Chapter 24.--DRAINAGE AND LEVEES
Article 5.--DRAINAGE IN VALLEY OF NATURAL WATERCOURSE

      24-507.   List of freeholders; persons entitled to vote.Within five days after receiving notice of the incorporation of anydrainage district the county clerk shall ascertain from the tax rolls ofthe next preceding year the names of all freeholders resident in Kansaswhose lands in whole or in part may be included within said district anddeliver a certified list of the same to one of the persons appointed asjudges of the first election to be held in the district, and at suchelection, and at all other elections held under this act, only persons whoare eighteen (18) years of age and are freeholders resident in Kansas,whose lands in whole or in part are within the district, shall be permittedto vote, and they shall vote in the county within which their lands arelocated, but no discrimination shall be made on account of sex. The list sofurnished by the county clerk shall not be conclusive, but the judges ofthe election may administer oaths and examine witnesses to determine theright of anyone to vote who may claim that he has been erroneously omittedfrom such list.
