25-4006. Governor and lieutenant governor;declaration; fee.The provisions of K.S.A. 25-206, and amendments thereto, shallnot apply to theoffices of governor and lieutenant governor. When candidates forgovernor and lieutenant governor in lieu of nomination petitions shall filea joint declaration of intention to become candidates for such offices theaccompanying fee shall be a sum equal to the total of1%of one year's salary for governor and 1% of oneyear'ssalary for lieutenant governor, as determined by the secretary of state.Amounts received under this section shall be remitted tothe state treasurer in accordance with the provisions of K.S.A. 75-4215, andamendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, thestate treasurershall deposit the entire amount in the statetreasury to the credit of the stategeneral fund.
Such declaration shall beprescribed by the secretary of state, andshall be attested before the secretary of state or a deputy secretary ofstate.
