27-318
27-318. Same; definitions.As used in this act:
(a) "City" means a city to which this act applies as provided inK.S.A. 27-317, which establishes and creates an authoritypursuant to this act.
(b) "Authority" means a surplus property and public airportauthority created pursuant to this act.
(c) "Property" means any interest in any real or personal propertywithin or without the city acquired by said city or available foracquisition by the authority from:
(1) The United States or any of its agencies pursuant to the federalproperty and administrative services act of 1949, as amended, thesurplus property act of 1944, as amended, the federal airport act of1946, as amended, and any other federal law relating to disposition ofproperty owned or held by the United States or any of its agencies;
(2) The state of Kansas, any political subdivision thereof, or anymunicipality therein under the provisions of any applicable statutes ofthe state of Kansas or municipal ordinances; or
(3) Any other source authorized by this act.
(d) "Public airport" means a public airport as defined in thefederal airport act of 1946, as amended, and shall include such propertywhich in the determination of the administrator of the federal aviationagency is essential, suitable or desirable for the development,improvement, operation or maintenance of such public airport orreasonably necessary to fulfill the immediate and foreseeable futurerequirements of such public airport for the development, improvement,operation or maintenance of such public airport, including propertyneeded to develop sources of revenue from nonaviation businesses at suchpublic airport.
(e) "Board of directors" means the board of directors of theauthority.
(f) "Director" means a member of the board of directors of theauthority.
(g) "Employee" means an employee of the authority created by a citypursuant to the act of which this section is amendatory.
