28-107b. Vehicles for sheriff and deputies; purchase, lease or paymentof compensation for use; limitation.The board of county commissioners of any county may make provision forautomobiles, motorcycles or other vehicles necessary for the sheriff andhis deputies for the proper discharge of their duties. For the purpose ofcarrying out the provisions of this section the board of countycommissioners may either purchase or lease and finance the operation andmaintenance of such vehicles or may authorize the use of private vehiclesfor such purpose and provide compensation therefor by the payment ofmileage as provided by law. No mileage shall be paid to any officer fortravel made in any vehicle owned or furnished by the county.
