28-618. Semiannual audits by county auditors; office.The county auditor shall audit the books and accounts of each countyofficer, semiannually, and shall report in writing to the board of countycommissioners the condition of the accounts of each officer collecting orhandling money. Said semiannual report shall show the total fees collectedand paid into the treasury by each officer since his last report, the totalfees then outstanding and unpaid, and all other information that the boardof county commissioners may from time to time require. Said county auditorshall be provided with an office by the board of county commissioners andshall devote all his time to the performance of his duties as such auditor.
