Chapter 31.--FIRE PROTECTION Article 6.--FIRE SAFETY STANDARDS FOR CIGARETTES

      31-608.   Same; enforcement of act; examination ofrecords.(a) To enforce the provisions of this act, the attorney general, thedirector and thestate fire marshal, their duly authorized representatives and other lawenforcement personnel arehereby authorized to examine the books, papers, invoices and other records ofany person inpossession, control or occupancy of any premises where cigarettes are placed,stored or offeredfor sale, as well as the stock of cigarettes on the premises. Every person inthe possession, controlor occupancy of any premises where cigarettes are placed, stored or offered forsale, is hereby directedand required to give the attorney general, the director and the state firemarshal, their duly authorizedrepresentatives and other law enforcement personnel the means, facilities andopportunity for theexaminations authorized by this section.

      (b)   The provisions of this section shall take effect and be in force from andafter July 1, 2009.
