Chapter 38.--MINORS
Article 15.--KANSAS CODE FOR CARE OF CHILDREN

      38-1518.   Fingerprints and photographs.(a) Fingerprints or photographs shall not be taken of anyperson under 18 years of age who is taken into custody for any purpose, except:

      (1)   As authorized byK.S.A. 2009 Supp.38-2313, and amendmentsthereto; or

      (2)   if authorized by a judge of the district court having jurisdiction.

      (b)   Fingerprints and photographs taken under subsection (a)(2) shall bekept readily distinguishable from those of persons of the age of majority.

      (c)   Fingerprints and photographs taken under subsection (a)(2) may besent to a state or federal repository only if authorized by a judge of thedistrict court having jurisdiction.

      (d)   Nothing in this section shall preclude the custodian of the child fromauthorizing photographs or fingerprints of the child to be used in any actionunder the Kansas parentage act.

      (e)   This section shall be part of and supplemental to the Kansascode for care of children.
