Article 22.--REVISED KANSAS CODE FOR CARE OF CHILDREN

      38-2214.   Duties of county or districtattorney.It shall be the duty of the county or district attorney orthe county or district attorney's designee toprepare and file thepetition alleging a child to be a child in need of care, and to appear at thehearing on the petition andto present evidence as necessary, at all stages of the proceedings, that willaid the court in makingappropriate decisions. The county or district attorney or the county ordistrict attorney's designee shall also have theother duties required by thiscode.Pursuant to a writtenagreement between the secretary and the county or district attorney, theattorneys for the secretary may perform the duties of the county or districtattorney after disposition has been determined by the court.
