Chapter 38.--MINORS Article 22.--REVISED KANSAS CODE FOR CARE OF CHILDREN

      38-2283.   Application to existing cases.(a) In additionto all actions concerning a child in need of care commenced on or after January1, 2007, this code also applies to proceedings commenced before January 1,2007, unless the court finds that application of a particular provision of thecode would substantially interfere with the effective conduct of judicialproceedings or prejudice the rights of a party or an interested party, in whichcase the particularprovision of this code does not apply and the previous code applies.

      (b)   If a right is acquired, extinguished or barred upon the expiration of aprescribed period that has commenced to run under any other statute beforeJanuary 1, 2007, that statute continues to apply to the right, even if it hasbeen repealed or superceded.
