      39-791.   Application of 39-785 through 39-790 suspended;expiration of section.Upon the date payments commence under title XIX of the federal socialsecurity act as authorized by subsection (g)(1)(A) of section 303 andamendments thereto of the federal medicare catastrophic coverage act of1988 for calendar quarters beginning on and after September 30, 1989, theprovisions of K.S.A. 39-785, 39-786, 39-787, 39-788, 39-789 and39-790 are hereby suspended. The provisions of this section shall expireon the date payments under title XIX of the federal social security actauthorized by subsection (g)(1)(A) of section 303 and amendments thereto ofthe federal medicare catastrophic coverage act of 1988 cease to be madepursuant to an act of the congress of the United States which repeals suchsection or directs that payments authorized under subsection (g)(1)(A) ofsuch section not be made.
