40-278. Cancellation or nonrenewal of automobile liability policy;notice of availability of Kansas automobile insurance plan.When a policy of automobile liability insurance as defined in K.S.A.40-276 is canceled, or nonrenewed other than for nonpaymentof premium by an insurance company, such insurer shall notify the namedinsured of his possible eligibility for such coverage through the Kansasautomobile insurance plan. Such notice shall accompany or be included inthe notice of cancellation, or nonrenewal, given by the insurer andshall state that such notice of availability of the Kansas automobileinsurance plan is given pursuant to the provisions of this act.
