Article 7.--FRATERNAL BENEFIT SOCIETIES

      40-757.   Examinations; notice and opportunity to respond; payment of expenses.(a) The commissioner of insurance or the commissioner'sdesignee may examine any domestic, foreign or alien society transacting orapplying for admission to transact business in this state in the samemanner as authorized for examination of domestic, foreign or alieninsurers. Requirements of notice and an opportunity to respond beforefindings are made public as provided in the laws regulating insurers shallalso be applicable to the examination of societies.

      (b)   The expense of each examination and of each valuation, includingcompensation and actual expense of examiners, shall be paid by the societyexamined or whose certificates are valued, upon statements furnished by thecommissioner of insurance.
