Article 10.--KANSAS ACTS AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

      44-1022.   Same; civil action by attorney general, when.Whenever the attorney general or any district or county attorney, within theappropriate county, has reasonable cause to believe that any person or group ofpersons is engaged in a pattern or practice of resistance to the full enjoymentof any of the rights granted by this act, or that any group of persons has beendenied any of the rights granted by this act and such denial raises an issue ofgeneral public importance, the attorney general or district or county attorneymay bring a civil action, within one year after the alleged discriminatoryhousing practice occurred, in the district court where an action may becommenced pursuant to K.S.A. 44-1021 and amendments thereto, requesting suchpreventive relief, including an application for a permanent or temporaryinjunction, restraining order or other order against the person or personsresponsible for such pattern or practice or denial of rights, as the attorneygeneral or district or county attorney deems necessary to insure the fullenjoyment of the rights granted by this act.
