Chapter 44.--LABOR AND INDUSTRIES Article 12.--MINIMUM WAGE AND MAXIMUM HOURS

      44-1210.   Violations; penalties.(a) On and after January 1, 1978, any employer who is convicted ofviolating any provisions of K.S.A. 44-1201 to 44-1213,inclusive, or falsifying any record pertaining thereto shall be finednot less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250) nor more than onethousand dollars ($1,000).

      (b)   On and after January 1, 1978, any employer who discharges or inany other manner discriminates against any employee because suchemployee has made any complaint to his or her employer or the secretary,or to the authorized representative of the secretary, that he or she hasnot been paid wages in accordance with K.S.A. 44-1201 to44-1213, inclusive, or rules or regulations issued thereunder, orbecause such employee has caused to be instituted, or is about to causeto be instituted, any proceeding under or related to K.S.A.44-1201 to 44-1213, inclusive, or because such employee has testified oris about to testify in any such proceeding, shall be deemed in violationof K.S.A. 44-1201 to 44-1213, inclusive, and, upon convictiontherefor, shall be fined not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250)nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000).
