45-401. Public policy concerning government records.The legislature declares that state and local government records with enduringvalue should be stored in conditions which are not adverse to their permanentpreservation and should be properly arranged so that appropriate publicaccess to such records is possible. Disposition of noncurrent records whichdo not merit preservation will promote economy and efficiency in the day-to-dayactivities of government. Cooperation among agencies at all levels of governmentis necessary in order to achieve proper preservation of records with enduring value.
