47-1302. Unlawful to feed unprocessed garbage toanimals; exceptions.(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) or (c),it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership or corporationto feed garbage to animals.
(b) Any person, firm, partnership or corporation who on the effective date ofthis act is registered as a garbage feeding operator may continue to feedgarbage to animals through October 31, 2001, ifsuch garbage has been heated to atemperature of 212 degrees Fahrenheit (boiling point) for at least 30minutes as provided by rules and regulations promulgatedby the state livestock commissioner.
(c) Nothing in this section shall prohibit an individual from feeding suchindividual's own animals only the garbage obtained from such individual's ownhousehold.
