Chapter 47.--LIVESTOCK AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS Article 14.--HUMANE SLAUGHTER

      47-1403.   Same; unlawful acts.No slaughterer, packer, or stockyard operator shall: (a) Shackle, hoist,or otherwise bring livestock into position for slaughter, by any methodwhich shall cause injury or pain; or (b) bleed or slaughter any livestockexcept by a humane method. The handling or other preparation of livestockfor ritual slaughter shall be exempt from the provisions of this act.
