Chapter 47.--LIVESTOCK AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Article 17.--PET ANIMAL ACT

      47-1732.   Temporary closing permit; application; effective date; renewal.(a) Any licensee or permit holder required to be licensedor obtain a permit under the Kansas pet animal act, who is in the process ofceasing to do business on July 1, may be issued a temporary closing permit atthe discretion of the commissioner.

      (b)   Application for such permit shall be made in writing on a form providedby the commissioner.

      (c)   The permit will be effective for 30 days. During the 30-day period, thelicensee or permit holder shall be required to comply with the Kansas petanimal act and all rules and regulations adopted thereunder. By accepting suchpermit, the licensee or permit holder agrees to allow an inspection of thefacility at the end of the 30-day period to certify that the operation hasceased business. The licensee or permit holder shall provide records as tothe disposition of the animals to the commissioner upon request.

      (d)   The permit may be renewed, at the discretion of the commissioner, for anadditional 30-day period.

      (e)   This section shall be part of and supplemental to the Kansas pet animalact.
