      47-629.   Injection of virulent hog-cholera virus into hogs withoutpermit unlawful; permit issued, when.It shall be unlawful for any person to inject any virulent hog-choleravirus into any hog, in the state of Kansas, unless such person firstobtains a permit from the livestock commissioner authorizing suchinjection. A permit to injectvirulent hog-cholera virus may be issued by the livestockcommissioner upon application to the livestockcommissioner upon a form provided by the livestockcommissioner. Such permit shall be issued only to persons who aresufficiently informed as toqualify to safely handle and use such virus, and such permit shall statesuch conditions, limitations and regulations as the livestockcommissioner deems necessary for the protection of thehealth of the domestic animals of this state from infectious or contagiousdiseases. Such permit shall be issued for a definite period which durationshall be fixed by the livestock commissioner as the livestock commissionerdeems necessary to prevent the spreadof infectious or contagious diseases. The permit holder shall comply withthe requirements of such permit.
