48-202. Staff officers; qualifications; vacancies.All staff officers of the Kansas national guard, including officers ofthe pay, inspection, subsistence, and medical departments, hereafterappointed shall have had previous military experience, and shall hold theirpositions until they shall have reached the age of sixty-four years, unlessretired prior to that time by reason of resignation, disability, or forcause to be determined by a court-martial legally convened for thatpurpose; and all vacancies among said officers shall be filled byappointment from the officers of the militia of Kansas. Nothing in thissection shall be construed or operate to limit the provisions of anyfederal law relative to the qualifications for appointment of officers orthe filling of vacancies.
