Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 22.--CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE; APPREHENSION AND RESTRAINT

      48-2202.   (KCMJ Art. 8) Apprehension of deserters.Any civil officer having authority to apprehend offenders under the lawsof the United States or of a state, territory, commonwealth, or possession,or the District of Columbia may summarily apprehend a deserter from thestate military forces and deliver him or her into the custody of the statemilitary forces. If an offender is apprehended outside the state, the offender'sreturn to the area must be in accordance with K.S.A. 22-2701 et seq. andamendments theretoor other reciprocal agreements.
