Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 22.--CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE; APPREHENSION AND RESTRAINT

      48-2206.   Reports and receiving of prisoners.(a) No provost marshal, commander of a guard, warden, keeper, or officerof a city or county jail or any other jail, penitentiary, or prisondesignated under K.S.A. 48-2205, may refuse to receive orkeep any prisoner committed to his or her charge, when the committing personfurnishes a statement, signed by him or her, of the offense charged against theprisoner.

      (b)   Every commander of a guard, warden, keeper, or officer of a city orcounty jail or of any other jail, penitentiary, or prison designated underK.S.A. 48-2205, to whose charge a prisoner is committedshall, within twenty-four (24) hours after that commitment or as soon ashe or she is relieved from guard, report to the commanding officer of the prisonerthe name of the prisoner, the offense charged against the prisoner, andthe name of the person who ordered or authorized the commitment.
