48-950. Kansas mutual aid system; participation bypolitical subdivisions.All political subdivisions within the state, upon enactment ofthisact, areautomatically a part of the Kansas mutual aid system. A political subdivisionmay elect not toparticipate or to later withdraw from the system by adoption of an appropriateresolution by itsgoverning body declaring that it elects not to participate in the statewidemutual aid system andproviding a copy of the resolution to the division. This act does not precludeparticipatingpolitical subdivisions from entering into supplementary agreements with anotherpoliticalsubdivision and does not affect any other agreement to which a politicalsubdivision maycurrently or in the future be a party under other Kansas statutes.
