Chapter 49.--MINES AND MINING
Article 4.--MINED-LAND CONSERVATION AND RECLAMATION

      49-402e.   Officers and employees transferred; civil service status;benefits and rights retained.(a) On the effective date of this act, all officers andemployees who were engaged immediately prior to the effective date of thisact in the performance of powers, duties and functions which aretransferred pursuant to the provisions of this act, and who in the opinionof the secretary of the Kansas department of health and environment arenecessary to perform such powers, duties and functions, shall betransferred to and shall become officers and employees of the Kansasdepartment of health and environment. All officers and employees sotransferred shall be in the classified service under the Kansas civilservice act. Any such officer or employee shall retain all retirementbenefits and all rights of civil service which had accrued to or vested insuch officer or employee prior to the effective date of this act. Theservice of each such officer or employee so transferred shall be deemed tohave been continuous.
