      59-2952.   Petition for involuntary commitment of avoluntary patient.The head of a treatment facility or otherperson may file a petition pursuant to K.S.A. 59-2957 andamendments thereto seeking involuntary commitment of a voluntarypatient who now lacks capacity to make an informed decision concerningtreatment and who is refusing reasonable treatment efforts or hasrequested discharge from the treatment facility. A petition filedby the head of a state psychiatric hospital, or such person'sdesignee, accompanied by a statement from a physician orpsychologist employed at the hospital that the physician orpsychologist believes the person to be a mentally ill personsubject to involuntary commitment does not need to be accompaniedby a written statement from a qualified mental healthprofessional authorizing admission to a state psychiatrichospital.
