      59-2956.   Emergency observation; discharge.The head of the treatment facility shalldischarge any person admitted pursuant to subsection (a) ofK.S.A. 59-2954 and amendments thereto when the ex parte emergencycustody order expires, and shall discharge any person admittedpursuant to subsection (b) or (c) of K.S.A. 59-2954 andamendments thereto not later than the close of business of thefirst day that the district court is open for the transaction ofbusiness after the admission date of the person, unless adistrict court orders that such person remain in custody under anex parte emergency custody order issued pursuant to theprovisions of K.S.A. 59-2958 and amendments thereto, or atemporary custody order issued pursuant to the provisions ofK.S.A. 59-2959 and amendments thereto.
