Chapter 60.--PROCEDURE, CIVIL Article 28.--SETTLEMENTS, RELEASES OR STATEMENTS

      60-2802.   Same; applicability of act.The provisions of this act relating to settlements, releases andstatements obtained from a patient confined in a hospital or sanitarium orbeing treated by a person licensed to practice the healing arts, shall notapply, if such patient is released from a hospital or sanitarium orreleased by a person licensed to practice the healing arts, within fifteen(15) days of the date of the occurrence causing injury, or if at least five(5) days prior to obtaining the settlement, release or statement, theinjured party has signified in writing his or her willingness that a settlement,release or statement be given.
