      65-5419.   Supervision of persons providing supportiveservices; supervision requirements.(a) An occupational therapy aide, occupational therapy techor occupational therapy paraprofessional shallfunction under the guidance and responsibility of the licensed occupationaltherapist and may be supervised by the occupational therapist or anoccupational therapy assistant for specifically selected routine tasks forwhich the occupational therapy aide, occupational therapy tech or occupationaltherapy paraprofessional has been trained and has demonstratedcompetence. The occupational therapy aide, occupational therapy tech oroccupational therapy paraprofessional shall comply with supervisionrequirements developed by the board by rules and regulations which areconsistent with prevailingprofessional standards.

      (b)   This section shall be part of and supplemental to the occupationaltherapy practice act.

      (c)   The provisions of this section shall take effect on andafter April 1, 2003.
