Chapter 65.--PUBLIC HEALTH
Article 61.--EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

      65-6106.   Certain officers and employees transferred; civil service andretirement benefits preserved.Officers and employees who were engaged immediately prior to theeffective date of this act in the performance of powers, duties andfunctions, which are transferred pursuant to the provisions of this act,and who, in the opinion of the emergency medical services board, arenecessary to perform the powers, duties and functions of the board shallbecome officers and employees of the board. Any such officer or employeeshall retain all retirement benefits, including the right to retain activeparticipation in the retirement system which theofficer or employee belonged to on the effective date of this act,and all rights of civil service which had accrued to or vested in suchofficer or employee prior to the effective date of this act. The service ofeach such officer and employee so transferred shall be deemed to have beencontinuous. All transfers and any abolishment of personnel in theclassified service under the Kansas civil service act shall be inaccordance with civil service laws and any rules and regulations adopted thereunder.
