Chapter 68.--ROADS AND BRIDGES
PART I.--ROADS
Article 1.--GENERAL PROVISIONS

      68-116.   Prescribed width of county roads; hedges; increase ofwidth, when.The width of all county roads shall be determined by the viewers atthe time of establishing the same, and shall not be more than onehundred and twenty (120) nor less than sixty (60) feet and in caseswhere a growing hedge or permanent improvement on or near one side ofthe proposed road precludes the road being laid equally on both sides ofthe line, the viewers may establish all or any part of said road on theside of the section line not encumbered by such improvement. The boardof county commissioners shall have authority to increase the prescribedwidth of any existing county road or highway in any county where suchboard of county commissioners deem it necessary for public safety, orproper construction of such road or highway, and shall have authority tolay out, establish and construct new county roads and highways in excessof the width prescribed in the preceding sentence where necessary forpublic safety, or for the proper construction of such road or highway.
