      68-2317.   Highway contracts; providing for prevailing wages.(a) Contracts entered into by the secretary of transportation fornonfederal aid state-funded projects shallbe based on bid specifications prescribing that employees of any contractoror subcontractor shall be paid in accordance with prevailing wagesdetermined in accordance with wage areas, job classifications and wagerates determined under the federal Davis-Bacon act.

      (b)   Employees employed by contractors or subcontractors in the executionof nonfederal aid state-funded highway project contracts with the state ofKansas entered into by the secretary of transportation shall be paid atleast the prevailing wage as determined in subsection (a).

      (c)   The secretary of transportation shall administer the provisions of this section.
