Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS Article 87.--CONSOLIDATION OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS

      72-8704.   Election for approval; who entitled tovote; proposition; conduct.The territory of the consolidated unified school district shall be allof the territory of the school districts being consolidated. The territoryof the school districts being consolidated may be noncontiguous. All of theelectors residing in the school districts being consolidated shall beentitled to vote at such election. The proposition submitted shall bestated on the ballot and in the notice of election in substantially thefollowing words: "Shall school districts ____________ and ____________form a consolidated unified school district?" and the blanks shall befilled with the names of each of the school districts beingconsolidated. The county election officer of the home county of theconsolidated unified school district shall conduct the election. Lawsapplicable to question submitted elections in school districts shall beapplicable in the conduct of the elections provided for under thissection to the extent that the same are not in conflict herewith.
