Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS Article 9.--SPECIAL EDUCATION

      72-963a.   Dispute resolution procedures; hearingofficers and mediators, education and training,list.The state board shall:

      (a)   Establish procedures, which shall be utilized by each agency, to allowparties to disputesinvolving any matter described in subsection (b)(4) of K.S.A.72-988, and amendments thereto, or inK.S.A. 2009 Supp.72-992a, and amendments thereto, to resolve suchdisputesthrough a mediation process or through due process hearings which meet therequirements of the federal law and this act.

      (b)   Establish the qualification ofpersons as hearingofficers and mediators in accordance with federal law.

      (c)   Compile and maintain a list of qualified hearingofficers and mediators.
