Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS Article 9.--SPECIAL EDUCATION

      72-963c.   Education advocates, appointment andqualification; training programs.(a) The state board, in consultation with the stateadvisory council for special education, shall:

      (1)   Prescribe guidelines for the selection ofpersons for appointment as educationadvocates and for the exercise of their authorized powers, duties andfunctions;

      (2)   establish standards and criteria for qualification of persons forappointment aseducation advocates; and

      (3)   provide for special training programs with respect to the powers,duties and functions of parents.

      (b)   Parents who are education advocatesshall, and all otherparents may, participate in the specialtraining programsprovided for under provision (3) of subsection (a).
