Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS Article 9.--SPECIAL EDUCATION

      72-997.   Transfer of records of an exceptional childwhen child changes school.All records of anexceptional child who transfers, or who is transferred, from one schooldistrict to another shall be transferred at the same time that such childtransfers, or is transferred, or as soon thereafter as possible. If thetransfer is a result of the change in placement by the secretary of thedepartment of social and rehabilitation services, it shall be the duty of thesecretary to transfer, or make provision for the transfer, of such records tothe district or school to which the child is transferred. If the transfer is aresult of the change in placement by the commissioner of juvenile justice, itshall be the duty of the commissioner to transfer, or make provision for thetransfer, of such records to the district or school to which the child istransferred. If the transfer is a result of the change in placement by thesecretary of the department of corrections, it shall be the duty of thesecretary to transfer, or make provision for the transfer, of such records tothe district or school to which the child is transferred.
