Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS Article 96.--PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

      72-9603.   Administration of act; rules andregulations.(a) The state board shall adopt rules and regulations for the administration ofthis act and shall: (1) Prescribe and adopt policies and guidelines for theprovision of professional developmentprograms for all certificated personnel;

      (2)   establish standards and criteria for procedures, activities and servicesto be provided in professional developmentprograms; and

      (3)   establish standards and criteria for reviewing, evaluating and approvingschool district professional developmentprograms and applications of boards for state aid.

      (b)   The standards and criteria established under subsection (a)(3) forevaluating school district professionaldevelopment programs shall include measures for assessing the impact ofprograms on improvement of the skills of certificated personnel in effectuationof effective instructional skills and improvement of the academic performanceof pupils.
