Chapter 72.--SCHOOLS Article 99.--AT-RISK EDUCATION

      72-9923.   Same; rules and regulations; standards andcriteria for improvement plans and awarding grants.(a) On or before January 1, 2006, the state board may adoptrulesandregulations for the development and implementation of plans of interventionestablished under theprogram. The state board shall establish standards and criteria for reviewing,evaluating andapproving school improvement plans and applications for grants submitted bydistricts. All grantsshall be awarded by the state board in accordance with the standards andcriteria established by thestate board. No district shall be eligible to receive a grant unless thedistrict includes within its planspecific strategies for intervention.

      (b)   Upon request of a school district, the state board shall providetechnical assistanceregarding the establishment and maintenance of the improvement plan.
