83A.180 Administration of oath. In cities of the second through sixth class, the official oath of any city officer, whether
elected or appointed, may be administered by the mayor of the city for which the officer
serves, except that a mayor's official oath shall be administered by such person as
otherwise provided by law. Effective: July 15, 1988
