95.710 Qualifications of members of police and fire departments.

95.710 Qualifications of members of police and fire departments. To be eligible for appointment as a member of the police force or fire department of a city
of the fourth or fifth class, except cities of the fourth class which have adopted KRS
95.761 to 95.784, a person must be able to read and write the English language
intelligibly, and sober, moral and sagacious. In addition, a member of a police department
in a city of the fourth or fifth class shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and a
member of a fire department of a city of the fourth or fifth class shall be at least eighteen
(18) years of age. No person who has been convicted of a felony is eligible for
appointment. After appointment no member shall interfere in any election. Effective: July 19, 1985
