206.020 Confederate pensions -- Persons entitled to. (1) Any Confederate veteran who has been an actual bona fide resident of this state since January 1, 1915, shall be paid fifty dollars ($50) per month upon proving that
he:
(a) Did actual military service in the Confederate Army from the date of his enlistment to the close of the war, or until he was honorably discharged from
the military forces of the Confederate states; (b) Was prevented from serving until the close of the war or until he was honorably discharged by reason of wounds or disease contracted in line of
duty, which rendered him unable to perform further military service; or (c) Deserted or was discharged, but reenlisted or returned to service in the Confederate Army, and served until the close of the war or until he was
honorably discharged or prevented from serving by wounds or disease
contracted in line of duty disabling him from further military service. (2) The surviving spouse of any such Confederate veteran who would have been entitled to the pension, and which surviving spouse was living with him as his legal
spouse at the time of his death, has not remarried since his death, and who has been
an actual bona fide resident of the state since January 1, 1915, shall be paid out of
the State Treasury fifty dollars ($50) per month. (3) Payments under this section shall be made upon proof of the facts according to forms and regulations prescribed by the Finance and Administration Cabinet. History: Amended 1974 Ky.
