214.290 Materials used in mattresses -- Regulation of. No person shall employ or use, in the making, remaking or renovating of any mattress,
any material that has been used in or has formed a part of any mattress used in or about
any public or private hospital, or any institution for the treatment of persons suffering
from disease, or for or about any person having any infectious or contagious disease, or
any material of which prior use has been made, unless all of said material has been
thoroughly sterilized and disinfected by a reasonable process approved by the board of
health of the city where the mattress is made, remade or renovated. The use of shoddy
made from secondhand materials, jute, old comforts, pads or mattresses in the
manufacture of new mattresses to be offered for sale as new mattresses is prohibited. Effective: October 1, 1942
