Page 1 of 1 216.263 Definitions. As used in KRS 216.261 to 216.269:
(1) "Board" means the Kentucky e-Health Network Board;
(2) "Electronic health network" means a network that allows for secure exchange of needed information among authorized health care providers, third-party payors, and
patients, with information being exchanged in real time when feasible; (3) "Health care provider" has the same meaning as provided in KRS 311.621 and includes optometrists licensed under KRS Chapter 320; (4) "HIPAA" means the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996; (5) "Insurer" has the same meaning as provided in KRS 304.17A-005; and
(6) "Ke-HN" means the Kentucky e-Health Network. Effective: March 8, 2005
