Section 1-101 - Definitions.

§ 1-101. Definitions.
 

(a)  In general.- In this article the following words have the meanings indicated. 

(b)  Clerk.- "Clerk" means the clerk of the circuit court for the county with appropriate jurisdiction. 

(c)  Comptroller.- "Comptroller" means the Comptroller of the State. 

(d)  Consumer member.- "Consumer member" means a nonprofessional member of a regulatory unit who is appointed from the general public. 

(e)  County.- "County" means a county of the State or Baltimore City. 

(f)  Department.- "Department" means the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. 

(g)  Person.- "Person" means an individual, receiver, trustee, guardian, personal representative, fiduciary, representative of any kind, partnership, firm, association, corporation, or other entity. 

(h)  Secretary.- "Secretary" means the Secretary of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. 

(i)  State.- "State" means: 

(1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or 

(2) the District of Columbia.
