Section 11-803 - Retake warrant.

§ 11-803. Retake warrant.
 

(a)  Designation.- The managing official of a local correctional facility or the managing official's designee may issue a retake warrant for the apprehension and return of an escapee. 

(b)  Copy to State's Attorney.- If a managing official or managing official's designee issues a retake warrant under subsection (a) of this section, the managing official or designee shall forward a copy of the retake warrant to the State's Attorney for the county in which the escape occurred. 

(c)  Execution of warrant.- A sheriff or police officer who is authorized to serve criminal process and to whom a warrant issued under this section is delivered shall execute the warrant in accordance with the directions in the warrant. 

(d)  Notification of arrest.- A sheriff or police officer who makes an arrest under this section shall promptly notify the managing official, or managing official's designee, who issued the warrant of the arrest.
