§ 13-1001. Definitions.
 

(a)  In general.- In this subtitle the following terms have the meanings indicated.

(b)  Bingo.- "Bingo" includes instant bingo.

(c)  Gaming event.- "Gaming event" means a carnival, bazaar, raffle, or other game of entertainment.

This subsection is new language added to avoid repetition of the phrase "carnival, bazaar, raffle, or other game of entertainment" and for consistency within this title. 

(d)  Qualified organization.- "Qualified organization" means: 

(1) a volunteer fire company; or 

(2) a bona fide: 

(i) religious organization; 

(ii) fraternal organization; 

(iii) civic organization; 

(iv) war veterans' organization; or 

(v) charitable organization.

This subsection is new language derived without substantive change from former Art. 27, § 261(b), as it related to the types of organizations that are allowed to conduct gaming events and bingo in Cecil County. 
 

The former references to a "corporation" are deleted as included in the reference to an "organization".
