Section 5-1214 - Development of resources and facilities.

§ 5-1214. Development of resources and facilities.
 

Within State wildland areas designated under Part II of this subtitle, the Governor, within a specific area and in accordance with the regulations he deems desirable, may authorize prospecting for water resources, and recommend the establishment and maintenance of reservoirs, water conservation works, power projects, transmission lines, and other facilities needed in the public interest, including road construction and maintenance essential to the development and use of specified areas, upon his determination that the use in the specific area will better serve the interests of the State and its people than will its denial. The recommendations shall be made after public notice of a proposal and a public hearing as provided for in § 5-1208. The proposed development shall become effective only by act of the General Assembly.
