Sec. 16.
A person who willfully removes or otherwise destroys the stakes or other physical markings used by a public utility to mark the approximate location of underground facilities is guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be fined not more than $5,000.00, for each offense or imprisoned for not more than 1 year, or both.
