Section 144.011 Department of Health
144.011 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
Subdivision 1.Commissioner.
The Department of Health shall be under the control and supervision of the commissioner of health who shall be appointed by the governor under the provisions of section 15.06. The State Board of Health is abolished and all powers and duties of the board are transferred to the commissioner of health. The commissioner shall be selected without regard to political affiliation but with regard to ability and experience in matters of public health.
Subd. 2.State Health Advisory Task Force.
The commissioner of health may appoint a State Health Advisory Task Force. If appointed, members of the task force shall be broadly representative of the licensed health professions and shall also include public members as defined by section 214.02. The task force shall expire, and the terms, compensation, and removal of members shall be as provided in section 15.059.
