Study on governance in urban school districts--report.

21.485. During the legislative interim between the first regularsession of the ninety-fifth general assembly through December 31, 2009, thejoint committee on education shall study the issue of governance in urbanschool districts containing most or all of a home rule city with more thanfour hundred thousand inhabitants and located in more than one county. Instudying this issue, the joint committee may solicit input and informationnecessary to fulfill its obligation, including but not limited tosoliciting input and information from any state department, state agency,school district, political subdivision of the state, teachers,administrators, school board members, all interested parties concernedabout governance within the school districts identified in this section,and the general public. The joint committee shall prepare a final report,together with its recommendations for any legislative action deemednecessary for submission to the general assembly by December 31, 2009.
