Bond to accompany statement--nature and amount of obligation.

33.390. The said application shall also be accompanied by abond, to be given by such owner or owners, on unencumbered realestate within this state, or bonds of the United States or of thestate of Missouri, or indemnity or surety bond in double theamount of the principal and unpaid interest of said bond or bondsat the time of application, conditioned to save the stateharmless from all damages or loss by reason of such issue ofduplicates or warrants, which said bonds shall be approved by theboard of fund commissioners, and shall be filed in the office ofthe fund commissioners; and suit may be brought upon said bond inbehalf of the state at any time within ten years after theoriginal bond or coupons shall be presented for payment.
